Overview
Banking restrictions and high fees make it difficult for Nigerians to make online purchases in foreign currencies and receive international payments. Yoba bridges this gap by offering virtual dollar cards and seamless cross-border transactions, simplifying global payments for Nigerians.
This case study documents my role as the sole product and brand designer, showcasing how I translated the client's vision into a functional and intuitive digital experience.

My Design Process
The client provided a well-detailed brief eliminating the need for extensive research, allowing me to dive straight into the design phase (a significant time-saver given the tight 3-week deadline !) Additionally, the project manager’s pre-drafted user flows provided a solid foundation for my design process, streamlining my workflow. This enabled me to focus on crafting intuitive and visually appealing designs without spending extra time on exploratory research or flow mapping
The Solution
Requesting International Payments: Yoba allows users to request and receive money from friends, family, and clients in multiple currencies using payment links. This feature simplifies the process of receiving international payments.

Users can easily create virtual dollar cards for hassle-free online purchases. The intuitive design ensures that even first-time users can complete the process in just a few steps.

Challenges & Learnings
One challenge was aligning the design with the development team’s technical constraints. During biweekly meetings, engineers flagged limitations with certain interactions on the prototype. I addressed this by simplifying the interactions while maintaining a strong user experience, ensuring the final design was both visually appealing, technically feasible and also met client expectations.
